Cristal Martinez Acosta, MA, LPC-S, NCC

Cristal Martinez Acosta, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors.  She is a bilingual therapist (Spanish speaking) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Level One Trainer.

She has extensive experience in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families who have experienced traumatic events. She is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and also trained in trauma-informed care, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy,  (CPT), Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Motivational Interviewing.

She earned her BA in Psychology from UTEP and her MA in Guidance and Counseling from NMSU.  After 10 years as a therapist in the nonprofit sector, she now runs her own consultation practice and works with Counseling of El Paso part time. Cristal is also the host and creator of a mental health podcast called “Through the Eyes of a Therapist”.
