Feliza Galindo-Insurriaga, MSW, LCSW

Hello there, I’m Feliza Galindo-Insurriaga, and my belief in the transformative power of compassion guides every step of my journey.

It all began at the University of Texas at El Paso, where my fascination with human behavior led me to pursue a bachelor’s in psychology and criminal justice. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I delved into my studies with passion, immersing myself in understanding the complexities of the human mind.

Alongside my studies, an eye-opening internship in criminal justice and teaching within a correctional center sparked my passion for education, ultimately leading me to become an Elementary teacher for seven enriching years.

However, my heart was always drawn to supporting others on a deeper level. This calling propelled me back to academia, where I pursued a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling. For seven more years, I served as a high school counselor, witnessing firsthand the profound impact of empathetic guidance and open-minded support in navigating life’s myriad challenges.

Driven by an unwavering desire to continue making a meaningful difference, I pursued further education, earning a Master’s in Social Work from UTEP. Now, as a licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Texas and New Mexico, I am committed to providing compassionate care support to individuals of all ages, from as young as 3 years old to those well into their senior years.

My therapeutic approach is diverse, drawing from techniques such as trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy, Theraplay, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and more, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual I have the privilege to serve. I specialize in addressing concerns related to attachment, parenting, stress, self-esteem, depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and suicidality.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me surrounded by my loving family – my husband, two wonderful children, and my beautiful husky. I’m beyond excited for the chance to join you on your own journey toward growth and healing.
