Hi there!
Hi there! Have you noticed behavior changes in your child? Irritability? Moodiness?
Does your child no longer seem like themselves anymore. In fact, are behaviors escalating by becoming more explosive and intense?
When you try helping, does your child reject and push your help away?
It’s normal to hope for children to grow out of phases and in most cases they do.
But usually sudden and drastic changes in mood and behavior are signs that your child is struggling to self-regulate. It also means that may not have the adequate resources or life experience to handle it appropriately.
My name is Jazmine Silva and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist and I can help. Currently, I work at Counseling of El Paso where I serve adults, teens, children and their families, and couples.
I have both a counseling and a teaching heart. Prior to entering the counseling profession, I was a 3rd grade dual language teacher at Ascarate Elementary for five years.
My profession in education and post graduate work inspired me at a personal level to pursue the field of counseling. I graduated with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from UTEP’s Mental Health Program, CACREP Accredited, in May 2018.
I have received training in various modalities that include Play Therapy, Theraplay, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Level 2 Method.
I am passionate about learning, growing and building better relationships.
Now, when working with children and their families, I use a personalized approach by using various play therapy techniques which are based on the needs and goals of the child and family. I include parents throughout the counseling process.
In some cases, parents are invited to participate in sessions with their child.
The goal is to help the home regain understanding and peace.
I wholeheartedly believe that the key to joy and satisfaction is heavily based on the quality of our relationships, our lifestyle, and our sense of worthiness.
It takes time, effort, and a whole lot of patience. But I am here to guide you, support you, and encourage you. If this feels right for you, please call.
