Though born in Mexico City, I am a true El Pasoan.
I’m a mental health counselor and hypnotherapist.
I completed my Masters in Education with a Mental Health Counseling concentration from The University of Texas at El Paso, and have a diploma in Hypnotherapy from the Hypnosis Motivational Institute.
In my personal life, I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful dogs where I find peace in companionship. I am learning how to play the piano and I love to exercise and read as pastimes in order to care for myself and find enjoyment.
My approach towards treating my patients is eclectic as I believe that one size doesn’t fit all, but I base my counseling on a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach since it has been empirically studied as a treatment for several issues. One theme that I am passionate about is connections with self and others.
When we have strong relationships, our brain is healthy and sends the right signals and in turn, we have healthier lifestyles. I am currently fascinated by the link between our thoughts, emotions, and health, and I am working on counseling based on innovative research-based neurological connections because we now know that our mind controls the brain, not the other way around.
I also like to work with depression, emotional distress, or anxiety as well as addictions, stress or just about any other issues that are affecting your mental health negatively.
It is my belief that as long as we are compassionate and loving to ourselves, we can also work effectively within ourselves, so I focus on self-awareness. I like to work with individuals, couples, and families.
